Voice Types

There are different types of voice, mainly to do with the range of pitch. Click on any of the following four to find out more information:


A choir is usually in four parts: soprano (highest), alto (a bit lower), tenor (lower still), bass (lowest). Sometimes each of these will split again into two more parts for singing complicated music with lots of lines. And sometimes there are voices pitched in between the main ones, called mezzo-soprano and baritone. There are different kinds of choirs:
